Dr. Strauss is Director of the Life Expectancy Project, and Emeritus Professor
of Statistics, University of California. He is a Fellow of the American
Primary areas of research:
- Life expectancy of persons with developmental disabilities, such as cerebral palsy (CP), autism, and Down syndrome.
- Life expectancy of persons who suffered anoxic, hypoxic, traumatic brain (TBI), or spinal cord (SCI) injuries.
- Life expectancy of persons with various medical conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.
- Comparative mortality of persons with developmental disabilities in institutions and in the community: Placement.
