Researcher and Consultant on Life Expectancy

  • Small San Francisco research and consulting group. The group's work in statistics/ epidemiology is internationally recognized.
    • Our research is on life expectancy and related topics, and is published in major medical journals.
    • Our consulting is in the litigation context, as expert witnesses on life expectancy. We give expert opinion on life expectancy, often in a detailed scientific report, and explain/defend our opinions in deposition and trial.
  • Essentials:
    1. Significant post-graduate training:
      • MD and MPH, or
      • PhD (in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, statistics, actuarial science or economics), or
      • FSA and MPH.
    2. Excellent computer skills.
    3. Unusual attention to detail.
    4. Outstanding oral & written communication abilities.
    5. Strong commitment to the work.
    6. A quick and lively mind.

Other criteria:

  • Preference will be given to candidates from the San Francisco area, to avoid the problems of (a) travel for interview, and (b) relocation.
  • Experience with SAS (statistical) programming would be helpful, but is not required.
